Four Dengue Patients Die, 745 Fresh Cases Detected Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 745 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts, killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours. “We recorded deaths of four dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8 am today,” a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said adding his office simultaneously recorded 745 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts during the same period.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DGHS statistics show that one person died in areas under the purview of Chattogram division, two in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and one in Mymensingh division. The data also reveals that out of the 745 fresh cases, 125 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 89 in Chattogram division, 154 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 127 in DSCC, and 116 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 32 cases were reported in Khulna division, 53 in Mymensingh division, 48 in Rajshahi division, and one in Sylhet division.



Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has witnessed 353 deaths while the disease has inflicted 88,457 people. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and affected 1,01,214 individuals in the country.
