Dhaka: The Detective Branch (DB) of police has apprehended four leaders and activists from the Awami League (AL) and its affiliate organization across various locations in the capital. They are suspected of being involved in attempts to destabilize the country by organizing flash processions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals have been identified as Hedayet Ullah Sarkar, the former general secretary of the Dhaka University Shahidullah Hall Chhatra League unit and ex-vice-president of the Bangladesh Chhatra League central committee; Md. Gias Uddin, vice-president of the Dhaka North City Awami Jubo League; Md. Sharif Hasan Anu, joint-general secretary of the Mymensingh District Awami League; and A. Razzak, organizing secretary of the Taltoli Upazila Awami League in Barguna district.
The arrests of Hedayet Ullah Sarkar, Md. Gias Uddin, Sharif Hasan Anu, and A. Razzak were executed in different areas within the capital, including Donia under Jatrabari Police Station, Rupnagar Police Station, Gulshan Purbapara, and Ramna. A police press release issued today confirmed these actions.
Legal cases have been lodged against all the detainees at various police stations, citing specific charges related to their activities.
