Four Arrested with 58.9-Kilograms of Ganja in Rangpur and Lalmonirhat

Rangpur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in three separate operations apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in drug dealing, confiscating a total of 58.9 kilograms of ganja over the last 48 hours from various locations in the Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an operational team from RAB-13’s Sadar Company conducted a search on a truck at Madanpur village under Aditmari Police Station in Lalmonirhat district. The team seized 28.8 kilograms of ganja along with the vehicle and arrested two suspects, identified as Md Bakul Hossain, 33, from Kashihat village under Sadar Police Station of Sirajganj district, and Sajib Ahmed Akand, 26, from Sonargaon area under Muktagacha Police Station of Mymensingh district.



In a separate operation, a Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) team from RAB-13 confiscated 20.1 kilograms of ganja and detained a woman at the Modern Mour area under Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station in Rangpur Metropolitan Police. The woman was identified as Md Ayesha Khatun, 24, from Uttar Gopalpur village under Kotwali Police Station in Dinajpur district.



In yet another raid, an operational team from RAB-13’s Sadar Company arrested a man with 10 kilograms of ganja at the Parker Mour area under Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station in Rangpur Metropolitan Police in the city. The individual was identified as Md Kabir Hossain Nayan, 30, from Daikhawa village under Hatibandha Police Station in Lalmonirhat district.



The elite force has handed over the arrested individuals and the confiscated ganja, along with the seized auto-rickshaw and truck, to the respective police stations in Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts, the press release stated.
