Four Arrested and Jailed in Connection to Nilphamari Murder Case

Nilphamari: A court has sent four individuals to jail following their arrest in relation to the murder of Sushil Gir alias Shiyal Gir, aged 60, in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the accused are Babita Rani Roy, 42, wife of Shyamal Chandra Roy; Shyamal Chandra Roy himself, 45; his son Akash Chandra Roy, 22; and Bikas alias Anwar Gir, 45. These individuals were taken to Nilphamari District Jail on Wednesday after their arrest.

Police reports indicate that Sushil Gir succumbed to his injuries on August 16 at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. He was receiving treatment after being seriously injured in an attack, purportedly by a rival group. A murder case was immediately filed with the Kishoreganj Police Station on the same day, leading the accused to go into hiding.

Bikas was apprehended by police in Nilphamari on Tuesday. His arrest led to the capture of the other three suspects in Gazipur later that night, facilitated by the information he provided and the use of information technology.

The suspects were brought to Kishoreganj Police Station on Wednesday morning before being transferred to jail. Officer-in-Charge Abdur Gafur of Kishoreganj Police Station confirmed that the arrests were made based on confidential tips and technological resources.
