Dhaka: Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves have reached US$30.08 billion.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, as per the International Monetary Fund (IMF) methodology under the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6), Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves are reported at $25.06 billion, as per the latest data from the Bangladesh Bank.

This discrepancy in figures highlights the different methodologies used in calculating foreign exchange reserves. The Bangladesh Bank’s reporting aligns with the country’s internal accounting practices, while the IMF’s methodology provides a different perspective based on global standards.

The varying figures serve as a reminder of the complexities involved in international financial reporting and the impact of different accounting practices on the perception of a nation’s economic standing.
