Five Skeletons Stolen from Thakurgaon Graveyard

Thakurgaon: Five skeletons were allegedly stolen after graves were dug up at a graveyard in Dehan village of Sadar upazila in Thakurgaon district on Thursday night. Locals discovered the disturbing scene when they visited the graveyard on Friday morning and found five graves had been disturbed.

According to United News of Bangladesh, three of the graves were situated next to each other, while the other two were located some distance away. Burial shrouds were found lying near the graves, indicating that the soil had been removed. Relatives of the deceased quickly took action to cover the graves with soil once more.

Local residents reported that the five individuals were buried approximately one to one-and-a-half years ago. Abdul Jalil, a resident who learned about the incident via Facebook, visited the site and witnessed the five graves in their dug-up state. He called on authorities to swiftly identify those responsible and ensure they face justice.

Md Shahjahan Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station, confirmed that police personnel visited the site following reports of the incident. He assured that necessary legal action would be taken following a thorough investigation into the matter.
