Dhaka: Land Ministry Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed today inaugurated five private land service centres to take services to the doorsteps of the people of Tejgaon, Dhanmondi, and Keraniganj revenue circles. The inauguration took place at a function in the city’s Bhumi Bhaban where the public can now submit applications for land services by paying applicable fees.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chairman of the Land Appeal Board, Md Ibrahim, attended the inauguration as a special guest alongside the ministry’s Additional Secretary Md Endadul Haque Chowdhury and Joint Secretary Mohammad Jahirul Islam. These centres, under the supervision of the land ministry and following necessary approval from the Deputy Commissioner’s office, aim to provide all required assistance to the public, thereby preventing any potential harassment.
The newly inaugurated service centres are strategically located at Satarkul east Podordia, Badda under the Tejgaon revenue circle; Digital Land Consultancy Centre, Katabon, New Market area under the Dhanmondi revenue circle; Noor Technology, Ati Bazar, Keraniganj under the Keraniganj Model revenue circle; Iktidar Training and Khan Computer, Chun Kutia intersection, South Keraniganj; and Shuvadda Kacharipara, South Keraniganj under the Keraniganj South revenue circle.
Initially, these centres will allow the public to pay land development tax and collect mutations, Khatians, and designs by paying government-fixed low fees. Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed emphasized that the government has launched these service centres to provide people-friendly and hassle-free services.
The inauguration was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka, Additional Deputy Commissioner-Revenue, and Assistant Commissioners (Land) of the concerned circles, marking a significant step towards improving access to land services in the capital.
