Five Killed as Train Hits Autorickshaw in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s bazar: Five passengers, including four members of a single family, were killed when a train collided with a CNG-run autorickshaw at Dhalirchara rail crossing in Rashidnagar union under Ramu upazila. The victims included the autorickshaw driver, Habib Ullah, 50, and passengers Renu Ara, 45, her sister Asma Ara, 13, along with Renu Ara’s two sons, Ashek Ullah, 3, and Ata Ullah, aged one and a half years.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic accident occurred when the Dhaka-bound Cox’s Bazar Express train struck the autorickshaw around 1:30 pm. Taibur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge of Ramu Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that the train dragged the autorickshaw for nearly one kilometre following the collision.
