Five Proteas stars have put the Indian Premier League (IPL) before representing their country in two Tests against Bangladesh later this month. Proteas Test skipper Dean Elgar – who does not have an IPL contract – said on his arrival from New Zealand that the choice between Test duty and the IPL will test the loyalty of his players. As it turns out, none of those players have elected to play for South Africa and miss out on the riches on offer at the IPL.
