Five Drug Peddlers Arrested with 2.5 Kilograms of Hemp in Jamalpur

Jamalpur: Police in a drive arrested five drug peddlers along with 2.5 kilogram hemp in Jamalpur Municipality area yesterday afternoon. The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Al Amin, 30, from Ganganagor village in Kumilla district; Md Mantu, 30, and Aktar Hossain, 38, from Kulur Char village in Sherpur district; and Md Saiful Islam Fakir, 43, and Gopal Chandra Karmakar, 40, from Dariabad village in Islampur Upazila under Jamalpur district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were made following a tip-off received by the Jamalpur Sadar Police. The police team conducted a raid in the Daripara area near the Jamalpur central bus terminal, where they successfully apprehended the suspects and seized 2.5 kilograms of hemp from their possession.



A case has been registered with the Jamalpur Sadar Police Station in connection with this incident, ensuring that legal proceedings will follow.
