Five Businesses Fined for Violations in Tangail

Tangail:The Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) fined five businesses a total of Taka 33,000 for various violations, including unhygienic food preparation, selling stale food, keeping expired medicines, and overpricing fruits in Mirzapur upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DNCRP Tangail office conducted the operation in the Sohagpur and Gorai areas, led by Assistant Director Asaduzzaman Rumel.

Sohagpur Bismillah Hotel and Restaurant received a fine of Taka 25,000 for preparing food in unsanitary conditions and selling stale food. Additionally, Molla Oral and Dental Care in Gorai was fined Taka 5,000 for having expired medicines. Three fruit vendors near Gorai Wal Setu were collectively fined Taka 3,000 for allegedly overpricing fruits.

Assistant Director Asaduzzaman Rumel stated that these fines were part of ongoing efforts to protect public interest, and such enforcement actions will continue.
