Patuakhali: Local fisherman Md. Nurul Islam made an extraordinary catch in the Sonatala River of Kalapara Upazila here in the district last night, reeling in a massive 12-kg Koral fish.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fish was caught in Nurul Islam’s fishing net, drawing a large crowd. It was later sold at the local market for Tk 929 per kg, amounting to a total of Tk 11,150.
Nurul Islam mentioned that he goes fishing in the river regularly. “But today, when I was pulling in my net, I felt something heavy. When I pulled it out, I was stunned to see a huge Koral fish,” he said, expressing his delight at the rare find.
He noted that such large fishes are seldom found in the river, making this catch particularly special.
