Dhaka: The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Finance of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, chaired by committee chairman Mushfiqur Rahman, MP.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a detailed presentation was delivered by the Bangladesh Bank on the central bank and its monetary policy. Committee members engaged in an extensive discussion on the topics featured in the presentation.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam, MP, and State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MP. Other participants included Md Jalal Uddin, MP, Moinul Islam Khan, MP, Md Shahadat Hossain, MP, Md Saiful Alam, MP, Syed Zainul Abedin, MP, and Md Abul Hasnat, MP, as reported by a press release from the parliament secretariat.
High-level officials such as the Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, the Secretary of the Internal Resources Division, and the Acting Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) were also present, along with officials from the relevant ministries and the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat.
