First graduate conference of agro scientists kicks off

The first graduate conference of the agricultural scientists from Nepal and abroad kicked off here Wednesday.

The conference began at the Agriculture and Forestry University. The first graduate conference was inaugurated by National Assembly member Bimala Rai Paudyal.

Inaugurating the event, NA member Paudyal said youths’ entry in the agriculture study and research has given positive message. The difference in the technology adopted in agriculture and the one available in market have failed to solve farmers’ problems, according to her.

Acting Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Ram Kumar Phunyal, said government has been providing utmost assistance for the development of agriculture. The agriculture related projects were prioritized, he added.

Similarly, Vice Chairman at Bagmati Province Planning Commission, Dr Nar Bikram Thapa, has said it is essential for the agriculture university to conduct further research in agriculture.

A total of 300 agriculture scientists are attending the event.
Similarly, 113 working papers would be presented by the agriculture scientists gathered from Nepal, India, the US, Japan, Canada, Taiwan, among others.
