Dhaka: The Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) has introduced an e-fire licence system aimed at simplifying the process of delivering public services. Director General Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal officially launched the system at 3:00 pm on Thursday during an event held at the conference room of the FSCD EOC building in Mirpur-10.

According to United News of Bangladesh, this new system marks the end of the long-standing manual process for issuing fire licences. Applicants will now have the convenience of completing the entire process online, from application submission to obtaining the licence, all from the comfort of their homes. Beginning May 1, the issuance of new fire licences, renewals, and re-evaluation of licences will be conducted exclusively online, with the manual submission of all types of licence-related applications being discontinued. The event also emphasized the need for cooperation from all parties involved.

Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Team Lead Director (Operations and Maintenance) of the e-Fire Licence Implementation Team, delivered the opening speech. The ceremony was attended by directors, deputy directors, officers, and employees from various ranks within the department. Representatives, including the head of Perky Rabbit Corporation Limited, the company responsible for implementing the e-fire licence project, were also present. Additionally, divisional deputy directors, assistant directors, deputy assistant directors, and warehouse inspectors from across the country participated in the event online.
