Habiganj: A fire erupted at a CNG filling station in Nabiganj upazila early this morning. The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 am at the Aushkandi CNG Filling Station situated on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, as reported by Abul Kalam, the station officer of Habiganj Fire Service.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the blaze was triggered when a passenger bus arrived for refueling and its gas cylinder unexpectedly exploded. This explosion led to a fire that engulfed the entire station. The incident resulted in significant damage, with nine CNG-run autos, one bus, and two motorcycles being gutted by the flames.
Upon receiving the alert, four units from the Habiganj Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene. They managed to bring the fire under control after a challenging two-hour operation. The full extent of the damage and further details will be revealed following a thorough investigation.
