Fire at Jhut Cotton Warehouse in Basabo Brought Under Control

Basabo: A fire that erupted at a tin-shed warehouse storing jhut (garment waste) and cotton in the Basabo area of Khilgaon in the capital was successfully brought under control today. The incident unfolded late in the morning, causing immediate concern among local residents and businesses.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fire ignited at approximately 11:58 am, prompting a swift response from two firefighting units dispatched from the Khilgaon Fire Station. The units arrived at the scene by 12:04 pm and immediately commenced efforts to contain the blaze. Their quick action proved effective, as the fire was brought under control by around 12:28 pm.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the aftermath of the incident. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have yet to determine the extent of the damage caused by the blaze. Further investigations are expected to uncover more details about the origin and impact of the fire.
