Rangamati: A cheque from the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund was handed over today to cover the cancer treatment expenses of the mother of national women's footballer Rituparna Chakma, a resident of Kaukhali upazila of the district. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah Maruf handed over the cheque at a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended by notable officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Ruhul Amin and Kaukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kazi Md Atiqur Rahman. The financial assistance aims to alleviate the burden of medical expenses for the Chakma family during this challenging time.
Pumpi Chakma, sister of Rituparna, was present to receive the cheque on behalf of the family. The gesture is part of ongoing efforts by local authorities to support community members facing significant health challenges.
