Chattogram:Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury emphasized the importance of digital skills and technical knowledge for students to thrive in the modern world. He stated that a solid understanding of computers and the ability to engage with digital learning methods and artificial intelligence are essential for future success.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister made these remarks during a reception for meritorious students at Chattogram Collegiate School, where he served as the chief guest. He highlighted the inadequacy of traditional education in keeping pace with a rapidly changing world and stressed that without acquiring these digital skills, students would struggle to excel.
During the event, which was presided over by Acting Headmaster Mohammad Tajalli Azad, the minister congratulated students on their outstanding academic achievements. He noted the crucial role of a supportive educational environment, emphasizing that success is a collective effort involving teachers, students, guardians, and family members.
Reflecting on his own time at the school, the minister praised its historical excellence in education and shared fond memories of his school days. He expressed concern over the current state of the school's library and the absence of a computer lab, committing to establishing one to enhance students' learning opportunities.
Earlier that day, the minister inaugurated a 3.5-kilometer cycle track in the Patenga area of Chattogram, a project by the Chattogram City Corporation. As the first of its kind in the country, the track is exclusively for cyclists. The minister advocated for more cycling paths and pedestrian walkways in the city, emphasizing the health benefits and the need for facilities that promote physical activity and athletics.
