Finance Adviser Mourns Death of Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia

Dhaka: Adviser to the Ministries of Finance and Science and Technology Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Prime Minister, veteran politician, and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the adviser conveyed his condolences, recognizing Khaleda Zia as a long-standing and influential leader in Bangladesh's political arena. He stated that her contributions would be remembered as a unique and memorable chapter in the country's political history.

Dr. Ahmed highlighted that at various stages of state governance, Khaleda Zia played an important role in upholding democratic values, freedom of expression, and constitutional continuity, despite facing numerous political challenges.

He further remarked on Khaleda Zia's honesty, determination, and strong sense of responsibility while carrying out state duties. Dr. Ahmed emphasized that her decisions and positions on key national issues had a significant impact on the country's political journey.

Terming her death as an irreparable loss to the nation's political landscape, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members, BNP leaders and activists, and her numerous followers.
