Dhaka: Director General of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), Faruk Wasif, today urged female journalists to sincerely engage with issues that are significant for the nation and its citizens. Speaking at the conclusion of a three-day multimedia journalism training session held at the PIB seminar hall, Wasif emphasized the importance of female journalists contributing to the country’s development.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Wasif highlighted the need for women to receive training on various topics beyond gender-focused issues, emphasizing their importance for the nation. The training program saw the participation of 35 women journalists, who were awarded certificates upon completion.
The training covered a wide range of journalism skills, including writing headlines, introductions, and features, as well as aspects of digital journalism. Parvin Sultana Rabbi, Director of Studies and Training (additional charge), was among the notable attendees at the event.
