Sylhet: A man and his daughter were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a private car in Dayamir area under Osmani Nagar upazila of the district this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Md. Harun Mia, 31, son of Md. Safiq Mia of Majidpur village in Umarpur Union of the upazila, and his daughter Anisa, 8. The accident occurred at approximately 8.30 am on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway when a bus collided head-on with a private car. The impact left the car driver, Harun, dead at the scene and injured five others.
Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Abdur Rashid Sarkar stated that the injured were transported to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, where an on-duty doctor declared Anisa dead.
