Father and Son Killed in Tragic Road Accident in Sirajganj

Sirajganj: An elderly man and his son lost their lives while another son sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred in front of Nur Jahan Hotel in the Chariya Madhyapara area under Salanga Police Station. The unfortunate incident took place on the Hatikumrul-Banpara highway early in the morning when a truck collided with an auto rickshaw.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims have been identified as Abdul Mannan Khandaker, 70, and his son Jewel Khandaker, 35, both residents of Purnabera village. The collision resulted in the immediate death of the two passengers, while the third passenger, Russell Khandaker, the eldest son of the deceased, was injured.



Local residents acted quickly to rescue Russell Khandaker and transported him to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The family was en route to Shaheed M. Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital in Sirajganj for treatment when the accident took place.



The Officer-in-Charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, Abdur Rouf, confirmed details of the collision. A case has been filed in connection with the accident as investigations continue.
