Gopalganj: A father and his daughter were tragically killed in a road accident in the Old Muksudpur area under Muksudpur upazila of the district today. The victims have been identified as Syed Jamal Uddin, aged 70, and his daughter Rahima Begum, aged 30, both residents of Kadmi village in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at noon. The pair was standing beside the road after disembarking from a bus when they were struck by a sand-laden truck.
Rahima Begum lost her life at the scene of the accident, while her father, Syed Jamal Uddin, suffered critical injuries and later died at Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex. The incident was confirmed by Shital Chandra Pal, Inspector of Muksudpur Police Station.
