Naogaon: A tragic incident unfolded this morning near Raninagar Railway Station as a father and his young daughter were crushed by a train. The victims have been identified as Korban Ali, 45, and his 10-year-old daughter, Koheli Khatun. They were residents of South Rajapur village, situated in the Raninagar upazila of the district. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, local sources indicate that Korban Ali, a fisherman who was also speech-impaired, may have taken his own life along with his daughter by leaping in front of the train. This suspected act of suicide is believed to have been triggered by a family feud, as reported by Moslem Uddin, the officer-in-charge (investigation) of Raninagar police station. Following the incident, Santahar railway police arrived at the scene to recover the bodies. The deceased were transported to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, as confirmed by the officer-in-charge. Legal proceedings related to the case are currently underway, he added.
