Dhaka: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused the fallen fascist Sheikh Hasina of utilizing the country’s public funds for personal gain. Rizvi made this statement during the premiere of the documentary ’36th July’ at the Bengal Multimedia Studio in Tejgaon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi highlighted the growing resentment among the public due to Sheikh Hasina’s alleged misuse of public funds while in power. He criticized the poets and artists who mourned on August 15, labeling them as individuals who chose fascism for material benefits.

Rizvi further alleged that the previous fascist government offered high-ranking positions, such as the top police officer role, as rewards for writing about a political party founder. Similarly, flats were reportedly given to prominent figures in the art and culture sectors, he added.

He described the July Uprising as an epic event and emphasized that all those involved, whether killed, injured, or participants, are historical figures. Rizvi concluded by stating that the July movement represents the collective expression of all rebellions.
