Dhaka: Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam, Bir Protik, and Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum today paid homage to Shaheed Md Hasan, a fighter of the July Uprising, by laying floral wreaths on his coffin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the body of Shaheed Md Hasan arrived at Dhaka Airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight from Thailand. Present at the airport were Liberation War Affairs Secretary Israt Chowdhury, July Mass Uprising Directorate Director General Md Mashiur Rahman, officials from the Health Ministry, and family members of Shaheed Md Hasan.
Md Hasan was critically injured on August 5, 2024, during the July Mass Uprising in Chattogram. Initially admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, his condition worsened, prompting his transfer to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. He was later moved to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, and subsequently to Payathai Phaholyothin Hospital for advanced treatment.
Hasan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital at 11:10 pm on Thursday. He was 25 years old. In accordance with his mother's wishes, Hasan will be laid to rest in the Subarnachar area of Noakhali district. The Noakhali district administration, under the supervision of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, has arranged all necessary preparations for his burial.
