Pekua: Cultural Affairs Ministry Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today distributed cheques among five injured persons of the 2024 July Uprising at Pekua upazila of the district. The distribution event took place at the Pekua Upazila Parishad auditorium where each injured individual received a cheque for Taka one lakh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended by Cultural Affairs Secretary Mohammad Mofidur Rahman, Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, and Pekua Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Moinul Hossain, among others. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support those affected by the uprising.
Following the cheque distribution, Adviser Farooki visited the home of Shaheed Wasim, a victim who lost his life during the July uprising. Farooki emphasized the importance of establishing the July Museum to preserve the memories of the martyrs and to educate future generations about the injustices perpetrated by the fascist government.
The adviser is actively visiting the homes of martyrs to gather souvenirs for the 'July Revolution Memorial Museum', which aims to document and memorialize the events and sacrifices of the uprising.
