Narail:A farmer was killed and another person injured on Saturday night after a dispute over drug use escalated in Kalia upazila. The victim, Mansur Molla, 45, from Kodomtola village, was allegedly attacked by a youth following an argument.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the suspect, Hasib Molla, 20, also from Kodomtola, fled the scene after the incident. Family members and locals reported that Hasib had a confrontation with Kased Mollah, a member of Peroli Union Parishad, after Kased confronted him about drug use. During this argument, Hasib allegedly assaulted Kased.
Later that evening, around 1000 pm, Hasib was at a shop in Kodomtola Tri-Mohona when Mansur and Nur Islam, Kased's cousins, approached him about the earlier altercation. In response, Hasib allegedly attacked them with a sharp weapon.
Mansur suffered severe injuries and died en route to Khulna for medical treatment, while Nur Islam received primary medical care. Kalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Idris Ali stated that the police are actively searching for the suspect and have sent Mansur's body to Narail District Hospital for an autopsy.
