Farmer in Jhenaidah Suffers Fatal Electrocution While Threshing Paddy

Jhenaidah: A farmer died of electrocution while threshing paddy at Maheshpur upazila here today. The deceased was Manoranjan Ghosh, aged 60, son of Kantalal Ghosh from Shivanandapur village in the Natima union of the upazila, as confirmed by Officer-in-Charge of Maheshpur Police Station, Nazrul Islam.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred at approximately 10 am when the paddy threshing machine became electrified due to a faulty electrical connection. This unfortunate event underscores the risks associated with agricultural machinery and the importance of ensuring safe electrical installations in farming equipment.



Officer-in-Charge Islam stated that the body of Manoranjan Ghosh was handed over to his family following the incident. The local authorities have not indicated whether further investigation into the electrical fault will be conducted.
