Rangamati: Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter today emphasized the necessity of modernizing infrastructure to safeguard and enhance the fisheries resources of Kaptai Lake. "If important establishments, including the Rangamati BFDC landing station, can be modernized, the fisheries resources and related activities will be significantly enhanced," she stated during her visit to the Rangamati BFDC Kaptai Lake Fisheries Development and Marketing Centre at noon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farida Akhter highlighted the poor condition of many critical establishments, such as the Kaptai Lake fisheries landing station, despite their significance to the national economy. She assured that the ministry would take measures to modernize and standardize these facilities promptly.
The visit included Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) Chairman Faraha Shammi, Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah, District BFDC Manager Mohammad Fayez Al Karim, and other officials.
