Rupganj:Faria Spinning Mills Limited was fined Taka 1.80 lakh for breaching solid waste management regulations in Rupganj upazila. The penalty was levied during a factory inspection in the Khadun area under Tarabo Municipality.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive was led by Rupganj Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Muhammad Marjanur Rahman. The fine was collected on the spot.
The Department of Environment (DoE) in Narayanganj stated that the factory was penalized under Section 15 of the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act, 1995. Md Hujjatul Islam, a DoE Inspector, served as the prosecutor during the operation.
The inspection was attended by officials from the Rupganj upazila police and the Narayanganj district office of the Department of Environment. DoE officials confirmed that such actions against polluting factories and projects would continue in efforts to safeguard the environment.
