Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan announced that the welfare-oriented initiatives of the new government will be prominently featured in the President’s address during the first session of the 13th national parliament commencing on March 12.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Swapan emphasized the importance of key programs such as the family card, farmers’ card, and agricultural loan waiver initiatives, which will be given significant attention in the President’s address. The minister shared these details with reporters following a cabinet meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Swapan noted the preparation undertaken by the Cabinet Division for the upcoming parliamentary session, scheduled for March 12. The cabinet meeting focused on ensuring that the government’s recently adopted measures, including the family card, farmer card, and agricultural loan waiver, are reflected in the President’s speech.
The information minister further mentioned that the cabinet meeting also covered the promises and initiatives that the government has already undertaken. He also addressed the current global war situation, revealing that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman plans to meet with relevant ministers, including those responsible for finance, power, and energy, to discuss this matter.
