Manikganj: Fakirerpool Young Men's Club achieved their first victory in the Bangladesh Football League (BFL) by defeating the defending champions, Mohammedan Sporting Club, with a 2-0 scoreline at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match, which began with a goalless first half, saw a dramatic turn when Forward Irfan Hossain opened the scoring in the 47th minute. The lead was doubled by Ivorian forward Ouattara Ben Ibrahim in the 61st minute.
Despite attempts to recover, Mohammedan Sporting Club was unable to find the back of the net during the rest of the match. With this victory, Fakirerpool now has four points from four matches, while Mohammedan remains at four points after the same number of games.
Fakirerpool Young Men's Club is set to face Bangladesh Police Football Club on December 6, whereas Mohammedan Sporting Club will take on PWD Sports Club on the same day.
