Dhaka: BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today expressed his condolences following the death of renowned Indian playback singer and businesswoman Asha Bhosle. The legendary artist passed away this noon at a hospital in Mumbai.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in a condolence message, Mirza Fakhrul stated that Asha Bhosle was a unique and iconic versatile artist in the musical history of the subcontinent. He highlighted her career, which spanned more than eight decades, noting that her melodious voice touched the hearts of millions through thousands of songs. Fakhrul emphasized her reach beyond Hindi, as she recorded songs in multiple Indian and foreign languages, thereby taking music to a global audience.
Mirza Fakhrul further commented on her extraordinary mastery across various genres, noting that her work in classical, folk, ghazal, and modern pop music elevated her to an unparalleled stature.
