Gopalganj: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep concern over the attack by individuals described as “terrorists of the Awami fascist government” on the NCP’s ‘March to Gopalganj’ event.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in a statement today, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented on the unstable situation in the country following the fall of the Awami regime in the student-public movement. He attributed the attack on the NCP event, including a crude bomb explosion and arson on UNO and law enforcers’ vehicles, to the misconduct of miscreants.
Fakhrul noted that the law and order situation has deteriorated, allowing Awami allies to incite chaos and challenge the interim government. He emphasized the need for decisive action against these miscreants to restore order.
He called for unity among people from all walks of life to safeguard democracy and prevent the resurgence of fascism, stressing the importance of protecting citizens’ lives and property. Fakhrul warned of threats to the country’s independence and sovereignty if unity is not achieved.
In closing, the BNP Secretary General urged for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible for the attack and wished the injured police officers a speedy recovery.
