Dhaka: BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today highlighted the profound significance of the word ‘Mother,’ describing it as a term of infinite vastness. “From birth until death, a person’s ultimate refuge is their mother. Mother is a small word, but its vastness is infinite,” he expressed in a heartfelt message commemorating ‘Mother-Day.’
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul extended warm congratulations and good wishes to mothers in Bangladesh and around the world, wishing them prosperity and good health. He noted the universal significance of honoring mothers, stating, “Although there is no need for a specific day or time to honor one’s mother.”
The veteran BNP leader elaborated on the vital role mothers play in their children’s lives. “A mother shows the child the light of the world. That is why a child’s love exists for their mother every day, yet this day is set aside to express that love distinctly,” he remarked. He emphasized the mother’s influence as the foundation of a child’s success, highlighting their relentless dedication and struggle in raising their children as sources of immense strength.
Fakhrul also acknowledged the contributions of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, praising her efforts towards women’s advancement in society during her tenure. He stated, “The contributions made by our late Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia for the advancement of women in society while she was in power have been praised both at home and abroad.”
He further reflected on Begum Khaleda Zia’s legacy, noting her significant impact on the country’s financial and social progress. Despite facing challenges in her efforts to restore democracy, her dedication remained unwavering, earning her the title ‘Mother of Democracy’ on both national and international platforms.
Concluding his message, Fakhrul prayed for Khaleda Zia, expressing his hope for her eternal peace. “On this glorious day, I pray to Almighty Allah that He grants late Begum Khaleda Zia a place in Jannah (Heaven),” he added.
