Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced the 15-member Women's A team for the ACC Women's Rising Star Asia Cup 2026, which is scheduled to commence on February 13 in Bangkok, Thailand. Fahima Khatun has been named the captain of the team. The Bangladesh Women's A Team is set to depart the country tomorrow for the tournament.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh has been placed in Group B for the regional event alongside Sri Lanka, hosts Thailand, and Malaysia. Meanwhile, Group A comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal. Bangladesh will begin their campaign against the Sri Lanka A Women's team on February 14. Following this, they will face Thailand on February 16 and Malaysia on February 18.
The tournament's format dictates that two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, which are both scheduled for February 20. The final match will take place in February. The squad includes players such as Shamima Sultana, Ishma Tanjim, Rubya Haider Jhilik, and Jannatul Ferdous Sumona, among others. Standby players are Disha Biswas, Misty Rani Saha, Halimatul Sadia, and Habiba Islam Pinky.
