Fahad Shares Second Position After 5th Round at Malaysia Open Chess Championship

Kuala lumpur: Bangladesh International Master (IM) Mohammad Fahad Rahman jointly shares the second position with 10 other players after the fifth round of the 21st Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open Chess Championship, currently being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fahad has accumulated four points from five games, showcasing a strong performance in the ongoing tournament.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, another Bangladeshi IM, Manon Reja Neer, has also been competing in the championship and has collected three points from his games. The fourth and fifth rounds of the championship took place on Wednesday, featuring intense matches among participants.

In the fourth round, Fahad achieved victory over Vietnamese Grandmaster (GM) Nguyen Dak Hoa, while Manon Reja Neer secured a win against Indian IM K. Ratnakaran. These victories contributed significantly to their standings in the championship.

During the fifth round, Fahad managed to secure a draw with Singaporean GM Siddharth Jagadeesh. Meanwhile, Manon Reja Neer also shared the point with Indian FIDE Master Gajwa Ankit. These results have allowed both players to maintain their competitive positions as the tournament progresses.
