Dhaka: Prime Minister's Education Adviser and spokesperson of his office, Dr. Mahdi Amin, today announced that the SSC and equivalent examination results have been prepared through a fully impartial assessment of students' actual merit and skills. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the previous practice of artificially inflating pass rates and GPA-5 achievers during the previous fascist government has been completely abandoned by the current elected democratic government.
The Prime Minister's Education Adviser made these remarks at a press conference held at the conference room of the Ministry of Education at the Secretariat while announcing the SSC and equivalent examination results. Dr. Amin emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in education, noting that the examinations began on April 21, just two months after the formation of the current democratic government. The government ensured fair and transparent examinations nationwide using a single question paper.
To further ensure transparency during the examinations, CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras were used at examination centers. Complete impartiality and objectivity in the assessment of answer scripts were maintained through subsequent training of teachers. Dr. Amin reminded that regardless of whether the results are favorable or not, they reflect the students' actual merit. He encouraged students who did not achieve their desired grades to not be disappointed by their results.
Dr. Mahdi Amin acknowledged the challenges in transforming a broken state structure, but assured that the government is working with utmost sincerity. He reiterated the democratic government's commitment to building an education system that will make students self-reliant and create employment opportunities. He also mentioned that the education sector was the most affected during the previous fascist regime.
Highlighting the government's education reform initiatives, Dr. Amin said the curriculum has been revised, expanded, and streamlined for the next academic year. Additionally, sports, startup competitions, and tree-planting programs have been introduced in educational institutions across the country to ensure a sustainable and equitable education system. Prioritization of teacher training and facilities, integration of sports and culture, and the proper use of technology in education are being emphasized to improve quality.
In conclusion, Dr. Amin expressed gratitude to teachers, guardians, examinees, education administrators, law enforcement agencies, and all others involved for ensuring the smooth completion of the examinations.
