Export-Import Activities Resume at Bhomra Land Port After Eid Break

Satkhira: The export-import activities at Satkhira’s Bhomra land port have resumed today after a nine-day shutdown due to Eid holidays. The port’s operations began in full swing from 9 am on Sunday, April 6.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the General Secretary of Bhomra Land Port C and F Association, Abu Musa, stated that his association, after a meeting with the C and F Agent Cargo Welfare Association of Ghojadanga in West Bengal, decided to suspend all export-import activities from March 28 to April 5 through this land port.



Officer-in-Charge of the Bhomra Immigration authority, Tufan Dulal Mondal, mentioned that although the import-export activities were suspended during the period, the movement of passport holders continued as usual.



Deputy Commissioner of Customs at Bhomra Land Port, Abul Kalam Azad, noted that the export-import activities resumed this morning after the nine-day Eid vacation. He highlighted that approximately 350 to 400 goods-laden trucks typically cross the land port daily.



Abul Kalam Azad further added that the port plays a significant role in exporting and importing goods between Bangladesh and India, with the government earning revenue amounting to Taka 2.5 to 3 crore from this port every day.
