Dhaka: Expatriate Bangladeshis who are currently in the country have the opportunity to register for postal voting in the upcoming 13th national elections and referendum. This registration can be done through the 'Postal Vote BD' app until December 25, provided they activate roaming services on their international mobile numbers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salim Ahmad Khan, the team leader of the Out of Country Voting System and Implementation (OCV-SDI) project, confirmed the registration process. As of now, a total of 490,033 expatriate voters have successfully registered using the 'Postal Vote BD' app to participate in the parliamentary elections and referendum.
In addition to expatriates, government employees who will be engaged in election duties and are living outside their designated voting areas are also registering through the 'Postal Vote BD' app. This information is based on a postal voting update released on the Election Commission's website at 4:15 pm today.
