Dhaka: Police on Tuesday night recovered a pistol of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal from the city's Monipuripara area. Tejgaon Thana police recovered a pistol of 7.62 bore belonging to Asaduzzaman Khan from a road between house no 132 and 139 in an abandoned condition. The weapon was wrapped in a shopping bag in the Monipuripara area around 9:10pm on Tuesday. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police also recovered 25 rounds of bullets, two magazines, five cleaning kits, and a license for the pistol from the shopping bag. Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), communicated this information to BSS. The recovered items, including the pistol, were deposited at Tejgaon Police Station. Legal processes are currently underway regarding this matter. Asaduzzaman went into hiding following the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, amid a student-led anti-discrimination move ment.
