Emirates, US-Bangla, and Saudia Cargo Honored at Airline of the Year 2024

Dhaka: Emirates has been named the “Best International Airline,” US-Bangla Airlines the “Best Domestic Airline,” and Saudia Cargo the “Best Cargo Airline” at the “Share Trip-Monitor Airline of the Year 2024” awards, acknowledging their excellence in service in Bangladesh’s aviation sector.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the awards recognized outstanding contributions to the country’s aviation industry, with Taufiq Uddin Ahmed, Founder and Chairman of Galaxy Bangladesh, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant impact on travel and tourism. The awards ceremony was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka, based on an online survey with over 3,000 frequent flyers participating.



A total of 23 categories were awarded, highlighting the achievements of airlines, airport lounges, and related organizations. The event was attended by Secretary of the Ministry of Railways Md. Fahimul Islam as chief guest, along with notable figures such as Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, and Sadia Haque, Co-Founder and CEO of Share Trip.



Speakers underscored the transformative developments within Bangladesh’s aviation industry, emphasizing sustainable growth to enhance passenger experience and competitiveness. New categories, including “Most Popular Airline Brands in Bangladesh,” were introduced, recognizing 12 airlines.



The selection process was managed by an 11-member jury panel comprising experts from various sectors who meticulously validated the survey results to determine the winners. Organized by The Bangladesh Monitor, a leading aviation and tourism publication, the awards aim to motivate airlines to enhance their services and contribute to the growth of Bangladesh’s travel and tourism sector.
