Rajshahi: BNP standing committee member and former minister of commerce Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today asserted that the upcoming national election should be held in early February. He expressed concerns about a circle of conspirators allegedly intending to delay the election, urging peace-loving individuals to raise their voices against this perceived conspiracy.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury made these remarks while attending a Rajshahi Divisional Business Conference at Zila Parishad Auditorium as the chief guest. The meeting, chaired by former president of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lutfor Rahman, was also addressed by former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mijanur Rahman Minu and President of Chapainawabganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Wahed. Business leaders from all eight districts under the division were present at the gathering.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury stated that if the BNP is voted into power, they would ensure free primary treatment as a part of their commitment. He emphasized enhancing competence not only in the division but across all districts, with plans to generate more job and employment opportunities. The BNP aims to bring significant changes to the economy, moving away from outdated ideas and initiating democracy in economic matters to ensure equal opportunities and participation for all citizens.
The former commerce minister highlighted plans for deregulation to free government officials from control, projecting the creation of one crore job opportunities within the first 18 months of governance. He emphasized the need to move away from Dhaka-centric development and empower all regions equally for balanced national development. Mahmud expressed his hope that all citizens would be integrated into economic activities for the country's comprehensive development in the future.
