Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has resumed the National Identity Card (NID) correction services starting today. "Our voter list has been completed. We have returned to normal operations. Applications for corrections under all categories can now be submitted," Director General of the NID Wing (Additional Secretary) ASM Humayun Kabir told BSS.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, NID correction services, which had been temporarily suspended, are now available again as a year-round ongoing process. Kabir explained that the suspension was necessary due to concerns related to the Overseas Citizen Voter/Voting (OCV) and In-Country Postal Voter/Voting (ICPV) processes. With these processes completed and the voter list finalized, the EC is now focusing on regular operations.

Kabir emphasized the importance of resuming the NID correction services, stating that the commission has officially withdrawn its directive to suspend them. The completion of the election candidacy process has allowed the EC to shift back to its standard activities, ensuring citizens can update and correct their NID information without further delay.
