Khulna: With the theme “Create Sanctuaries, Fill the Country with Native Fish,” a week-long programme has been undertaken to observe National Fisheries Week-2025 in Khulna. The initiative aims to promote the conservation of native fish species through various activities scheduled throughout the week.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme was adopted at a preparatory meeting of the district committee for the implementation of National Fisheries Week 2025. The meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner of Khulna, where Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bithan Kumar Mondal presided. Khulna District Fisheries Officer Md. Badruzzaman, alongside officials from multiple departments, participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, it was announced that National Fisheries Week will be observed across the country from July 22 to July 28. Various activities are planned in Khulna district to mark the occasion, focusing on the preservation and promotion of native fish species.
