Efforts Underway to Elevate BRUR as a Leading University: VC

Rangpur: Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), Professor Dr. Md. Showkat Ali, has announced ongoing efforts to transform BRUR into one of the leading universities in the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Ali emphasized the administration’s commitment to creating an education-friendly environment on campus. He highlighted the steps being taken to address issues such as teacher and classroom shortages promptly. The Vice-chancellor made these remarks while distributing merit cheques to students who excelled in the 2024 undergraduate and postgraduate examinations during a function held at the university’s virtual classroom.

Professor Ali asserted that the university could become the best in the country by ensuring quality higher education and fostering in-depth research work. He encouraged students to concentrate on their studies and engage in creative activities, urging them to use their time wisely.

Since assuming office, the Vice-chancellor has been working o
n developing various infrastructures to provide facilities for students. He called on students to positively represent the university at all levels.

During the event, 408 students from 22 departments across six faculties were awarded merit scholarships for the year 2024. The event was presided over by the university’s Director of Finance and Accounts, Professor Dr. Md. Shahzaman, and attended by several other esteemed faculty members and officials, including Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr. Md. Emdadul Haque, and Dr. Md. Ferdous Rahman, among others.
