London: Education is not merely a means of obtaining certificates, rather it is a lifelong journey that shapes values, builds character, and inspires responsible global citizenship, said Prime Minister's adviser on education, primary and mass education, Mahdi Amin, today. He made these remarks while addressing the ongoing Education World Forum 2026 in London.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, representing the Bangladesh government at the forum's key session, the Prime Minister's Office spokesperson emphasized that the true purpose of education is to empower every individual with knowledge, skills, and wisdom to succeed in education, career, and life as a whole. He highlighted the current government's commitment to transforming Bangladesh based on a strong democratic mandate and building a prosperous, skilled, and ethical workforce.
More than 100 education ministers from various countries and heads of international development partner organizations attended this significant session, alongside Bangladesh Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haqoe Milon. Meanwhile, British Council Bangladesh highly appreciated Mahdi Amin's visionary remarks on reforming and improving Bangladesh's education system. The organization published a special photo card featuring the adviser's speech and photograph on its verified social media page.
The British Council Bangladesh remarked that it was inspiring to hear Mahdi Amin's vision of education as a driving force for values, skills, and global citizenship. "We look forward to dialogue on innovative financing for sustainable education systems and the global collaboration inspired through it," the organization noted.
In a social media post reflecting on his four-day state visit and the historic city of London, Mahdi Amin expressed emotional sentiments about the trip. He shared that he had visited the city every year over the past two decades and that London had witnessed many significant chapters of his life. The adviser particularly recalled that 15 years ago in London, he first met the current Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman, marking the beginning of an invaluable journey of working together.
Describing the current visit as entirely different and humbling, Mahdi Amin stated, "This is the first time I have returned to this familiar city as an adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh." He further expressed his commitment to serving Bangladesh with utmost determination, dignity, and integrity under the visionary leadership of the honorable Prime Minister. "The responsibility is immense, but so is the opportunity to bring change and unlock the potential of our youth, women, and future generations," he added.
During the four-day international forum, the Bangladesh delegation is highlighting the country's transformative plans and global partnership initiatives for ensuring quality education, professional development of teachers, and modernization of the future education system.
