Dhaka: The Ministry of Education has announced strict measures against the heads of educational institutions who fail to submit broadsheet replies to inspection and audit reports within the specified timeline. The ministry has stated that the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) of these institution heads will be suspended or cancelled as a consequence of their non-compliance.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the directive was issued in an official order signed by Md. Selim Sikder, Assistant Secretary of the Internal Audit Wing of the Secondary and Higher Education Division. The order was addressed to the Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, emphasizing the persistent issue of delayed broadsheet replies from the Directorate of Inspection and Audit (DIA) following inspections of various educational institutions.

The ministry highlighted the challenges posed by such delays, noting that many teachers and employees retire or pass away before the significant financial and administrative objections mentioned in the reports can be resolved. This situation complicates the process of addressing these issues effectively.

The order explicitly stated that any delay from the institution heads in sending the broadsheet replies would be treated as negligence in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. To address this, institution heads have been instructed to submit all pending broadsheet replies directly to the Directorate of Inspection and Audit within the next 15 working days.

The directive concluded with a warning that failure to comply with the submission timeline would result in the suspension or cancellation of the MPO for the concerned institution head, as per the MPO Policy-2025, due to non-adherence to government directives.
